Gary Clark Obituary
Gary served in the 101st Airborne as a medic during the Vietnam War. He continued to serve his fellow veterans by volunteering on the VFW Post 3676 Honor Guard for 40 years leading the honor guard through thousands of funerals.
Gary retired from Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He was a life member of VFW Post 3676 and charter member of Orioles Nest 311. He spent many years coaching youth hockey including the VFW Bantam House State Hockey champions.
A passionate Green Bay Packer fan who loved spending time with his family and making his famous pancake breakfasts. He loved sitting by his pond and flower garden and listening to the waterfall. He was often found having fun with his longtime friend, Chuck Leigh.
Surviving Gary are his loving wife, Joan of Kincheloe, Michigan, son Theodore Clark of Kincheloe, Michigan, daughters Monica Clark of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Natalie (Frank) Olsson of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Also surviving are Gary's mother, Marion Clark, two brothers, Greg (Debbie) Clark, Rodney (Sandra) Clark and sister, Lynn (Michael) Ailiff as well as his grandchildren: Brett, Chase, Atlantis, Jaxon, and Violet and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Gary is predeceased by his father, Eugene Clark and sister, Diane (Pat) McCormick.
Visitation will be held at Hovie Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. at Hovie Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Kinross, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society. A luncheon will be served in Gary's Honor at the Bunker Bar and Grill at the Oaks Golf Course following cemetery service.
