Ardith Kaiser Obituary

June 10, 1927 - Nov. 6, 2009
NILES - Ardith Kaiser, 82, born in Gary, IN, formerly of Niles, MI, passed away peacefully at the Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Home, Longmont CO, her daughters at her side. Ardy was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Eugene Kaiser on January 22, 2004, and by her sister, Evelyn Sill of Tucson, AZ. Survivors include daughter, Mary Lou McManaman, and her husband, Dr Richard McManaman of Longmont, CO, and his children, Katie Hale and her husband, Joe of Thornton, CO, and Barry McManaman and his wife, Kerry of Somerdale NJ; daughter, Kathleen Elghammer and husband, Garry Elghammer of Niles, MI, and her grandson, Major Chet Bryant and his wife, Capt. Elaine Bryant, and two great-grandchildren, Cody and Christian Bryant of Colorado Springs. Also surviving are a niece, Dee Dee Sill Butler, and her husband, Robert of Federal Way, WA. Ardy met Fay on Indian Lake in Dowagiac, MI, when he returned from Pearl Harbor. They were married in 1947 in Gary, IN. Settling in Niles for a lifetime, she enjoyed Monday Reading Club, Niles Service League, Town and Country Dance Club, and was an avid reader and boater. They both enjoyed snow skiing , fishing on Lake Michigan, and spending time on Indian Lake where they finally settled for their retirement years. But, most of all, she loved to dance, still dancing at every Hover Home party until she passed. Now she is truly dancing with the stars. In her memory, please make contributions to these remarkable, caring people: Hospice Care of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO 80026. www.hospicecareonline.org

Fay and "Ardi" were our neighbors in Niles, Kathy being my best friend as a child. The Kaisers were good people and I remember how Ardi and Fay were so in love, like teenagers and how Ardi loved to read and keep a clean house and was a protective nurturing mother to her two girls. I visited the Kaisers a few times after both our families moved. I have pleasant memories and want to express my deepest condolences for the passing of Ardi. My mother passed on a few years later. She and Ardi were friends. I remember one time they had been sipping some sauce and were soaping up
Our kitchen floor laughing together. That wasn´t often but as a kid I thought it was very cool. They worked hard and it was good to see them have fun. So I have good memories of a dear family from long ago. God bless and comfort you
