April 23, 1950 - Nov. 20, 2013
GOSHEN - Roger Eugene Stutzman of Goshen, IN, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2013. Roger was born on April 23, 1950, in Warsaw, IN, to Eli and Katherine (Yoder) Stutzman. Roger's career as a cabinet maker at Kountry Wood Products in Nappanee and as a laborer was characterized by his hard work, commitment and reliability. Roger loved sports, but baseball was his passion. He enjoyed this sport throughout his life, especially watching his sons play through their school years. He was an avid fan of the White Sox, and in recent years he enjoyed attending White Sox games with his family annually. Roger married Karen Ann Seifert in 1982. She survives in Goshen, IN. Also surviving are his children, Duston Eugene Alan Stutzman of Plainfield, IL, and James "Derek" Lee Stutzman of Goshen, IN; and his sisters, Joan (Gary) Martin of Meridian, ID, Barb (Dan) Kantola of Boise, ID, Pat (Carl) Morgan of Florissant, MO, and Ruth (Gerald) Troyer of Nappanee, IN. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Katherine Stutzman; and two brothers, Joseph & Emerson, who died as infants. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 25, 2013, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. His brother-in-law, Pastor Dan Kantola, and Pastor Rick Gering of Sugar Grove Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee. Friends may visit from 4-7 PM Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Roger may be made to the family.
