TURKEY CREEK, Ky. — Michael McCoy, 61, of Turkey Creek, Ky., passed away Mon., Oct. 14, 2013 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
Born Dec. 15, 1951, Williamson, he was a son of the late Tolbert and Elizabeth "Guff" Taylor McCoy II. Also preceding him in death were brothers Jimmy Neal McCoy and James T. McCoy and two infant brothers.
Michael was a welder and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He formerly attended the East Williamson Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Derek (Kimberly) McCoy of Douglasville, Ga.; four brothers, Harold C. McCoy, Tolbert (Sandra) McCoy Jr. III, William E. (Sylvia) McCoy, and Wallace McCoy, all of Turkey Creek,, and five sisters, Melba J. (Donald) Johnson of Turkey Creek, Linda McCoy and Anita (Greg) Clevenger, both of Sidney, Ky., Elizabeth Carlene McCoy of Forest Hills,
Ky., and Rosemary (Mark) Jarrell of Portland, Maine; two grandchildren, Ivy Lucille McCoy and Della Mae McCoy, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 17, at Hatfield Funeral Chapel with Mark Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery at Brushy, Ky.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home with special services at 7 p.m.
