David Richard Obituary

David C. Richard, of East Bridgewater, died July 18, 2017 in the Brockton Veterans Hospital at the age of 72. David was born in Brockton, and raised in West Bridgewater son of the late Vera (Gartland) and Leroy Richard. David was in the first graduating class from Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton. David was a skilled Carpenter and very Proud Navy Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He was the father of the late Michael Richard and brother to the late Roy Richard. He is survived by his son Erick Richard of Brockton, and his sister Kathryn Ruane of Raynham. Brother-in-law of the late Bernie Ruane. Uncle of Terri Carlson and her husband Gary of Halifax, Sue Martello and her husband Eric of Taunton. Great uncle of Nicole and Joseph Carlson of Halifax and Kaitlyn Ruane of Taunton. He also is survived by his dear friend of over 65yrs Ray Wood and his wife Kathy of Lakeville. A funeral Mass will be held for David in St. Anns Church West Bridgewater Tuesday July 25th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater with Navy honors. So sorry for your loss. I met Dave at the Samoset Rod & Gun Club. Each time Dave would cook at a function, I would attend. He made the best roast beef and cornbread. He will be missed.
