Richard Warmington Obituary

Richard E. Warmington, 74, a retired West Bridgewater police officer, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 17, 2018, surrounded by his family, after a long but dignified struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Thayer) Warmington for almost 37 years; loving father of Kathleen Sylvester of Florida, R. Scott Warmington (and Jennifer) of Assonet, Christopher Snell Jr. (and Kristine) of Bridgewater and Jennifer Edgerly (and Roger) of West Bridgewater; devoted Papa of Andrew Warmington (and Lauren), Brittany Warmington, Christopher Snell III, Alexandra and Graham Edgerly, and Carlee Snell; great-grandfather of Virginia Warmington; brother of Susan Donnelly (and Peter) of Florida and Craig Warmington (and Mary) of Middleboro; and he leaves nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Born in Quincy and raised in Brockton, he was a son of the late Phyllis and Edward Warmington. He resided in West Bridgewater for over 50 years and served on the police force there for 42 years, the last 6 years of which he was the Plymouth County Prosecutor for the town. He later worked security for CNT in Bridgewater. Richard enjoyed traveling, New England sports, collecting baseball cards and coins, reading, movies and the beach. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 4-7 p.m. and a 7 p.m. "Time of Remembrance" in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton. Cremation and private committal. Very sorry for your loss!! called one of the four squirrels because we talked so much in Jack Riordans English class. Nick Celia, Richy Shanks, Mike Dadak and Dick.
All four grew up to be police officers.
Great guy I'm sure he will be missed!
