Alfredo Aiello Obituary

Alfredo Aiello, age 82, of Braintree, died peacefully, Monday, August 9, 2010 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Palermiti, Italy, raised and educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1956 where he arrived in Boston. He later lived in Worcester for several years before moving to Braintree in 1968. Mr. Aiello and his wife, Rosina, were the founders of the well known Alfredo Aiello Italian Foods, Inc. of Quincy which they began together in 1966. He was devoted to his family and his work. Mr. Aiello was proud of his Italian heritage which was very important to him. During his career he enjoyed participating in various cultural events and organizations. He was also involved in Parkinsons disease research and awareness programs. Beloved husband for fifty-three years of Rosina (Maudente) Aiello. Devoted father of Peter B. Aiello and his wife Sara of Hingham, Rosanna Aiello of Braintree, Pasqualino A. Aiello and his wife Kaitlyn of Braintree. Loving grandfather of Marc, Cara, Ella and Jack. Brother of Modestina Aiello of Italy. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Thursday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2|4 and 7|9 p.m. Entombment at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. My condolences to the Aiello family. I did not know Mr. Aiello but by his establishing his corporation in Quincy he provided many delicious meals that have been served at my house in Milton for so many family functions. I wish I had met him to personally thank him.

Mr. Aiello hired me to work in his factory on Water Street about 1963 or so. He let me work for the summer and I do remember him as being very patient with me, as a new employee.
