Carol DeFelice Obituary

Carol Ann DeFelice, 79, of Plymouth died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, peacefully, at home with her family. Carol was born on September 9, 1941, in Plymouth, daughter of John DeFelice and Dorothy (Garuti) DeFelice. Raised in Kingston, Carol graduated from Silver Lake High Regional High School in1959 before moving to Connecticut with her then husband Allen W. Cavicchi to start a family. She earned a BA in English Literature Cum Laude in 1976 from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., with a focus on Modern Poets and a Technical Writing Certificate from Wentworth Institute in Boston, in 1997. Carol taught secondary school English and worked as a technical writer throughout the years in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. She returned to live in Plymouth in 1990. Carol wanted to write since she first learned to read. She was always drawn particularly to poetry and began seriously writing poems over 30 years ago. She wrote and workshopped frequently at the Joiner Center and Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. In 2012 she joined the Tidepool Poets which gave her the opportunity to spend more time in the company of poets in her own community. Her poems have been published in several area journals. Along with writing poetry, Carol enjoyed and appreciated all of the Fine Arts, music, literature, movies, ocean breezes, beach roses, horses and her many feline companions. Carol is survived by her son, Allen Joseph Cavicchi and his wife Lauren Lineback of Arlington; her daughter, Susanne Cavicchi of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Brenda King and husband Leo of Kingston; a brother, Stephen DeFelice and wife Ursula of Groton, Conn. She also leaves two beloved grandchildren, Adriana Cavicchi and Nathanial Cavicchi of Arlington. Private services were held. Online guest book, please visit www.cartmelldavis.com.

During the time that I helped Carol with her garden, I sensed that she was a unique person. Though my time with her was short I knew she enjoyed the plants that I planted for her.I will miss her and those few moments when we were talking about the garden and her cat.
My best to her family
