Amy Shirane Obituary

SHIRANE, Amy (Age 91) Amy passed away peace-fully on May 22, 2009 in Spokane, WA. She was born to Shinzo and Takeyo (Tsuchihashi) Kaneko in Seattle, WA on September 19, 1917. In 1935, she graduated from Broadway High School. During WWII, her family was interned at Minidoka War Relocation Center. In 1945, she went to Detroit, Mi where she worked for D. J. Healy and Crowley, Milner and Co. She lived in Kailua Kona, HI before coming to Spokane, WA in 2004. Amy is survived by her daughter Sarah (Jonas) Parshall of Spokane, WA and son Kay (Marlene) Shirane of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Preston Parshall of Seattle, WA, Stephen Parshall of Everett, WA, Tami Erve of Detroit, MI, Derek Shirane of San Diego, CA, Ty (Kelly) Shirane and Damon Shirane of Las Vegas, NV; great grandchildren Amanda, C.J., Falon, Megan , Alexis, Krystal, Ty, Kellisa, Tryton, and Gavin. The family would like thank St. Joseph Care Center for their support and East Central Community Center's Senior Program for the all the "good times." Amy was a quiet, gentle person with a beautiful smile. She will be missed by all who knew her. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. www.heritagefunerals.com
