Donald REDDING Obituary

Blake Donald Redding, age 41 of Spokane passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2023. He was born to Don and Debra Redding and was the oldest of four children.

Blake spent all of his life in Spokane, attending Cataldo and St. Charles Elementary/Junior High Schools and Gonzaga Preparatory High School. He attended Spokane Falls Community College before eventually going on to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Public Administration and a Master's degree in Business Administration at Whitworth University. In 2013, after dating for two years, Blake married Erin Redding (Hensley) in a ceremony in Spokane. They had one son born in 2015.

Blake was a gifted musician and played drums in a few different bands/musical projects. With TOOL serving as his original inspiration, he attended countless concerts and music festivals, always "nerding out" with fellow fans. Up until his death, Blake continued to grow as a musician and was dabbling in studio recording.

Blake was a stranger to none, always there for his friends and family. He had a healthy sense of humor and the very best laugh. He could often be found in the yard, working on his lawn. He had secret competitions with the neighbors- always vying for the greenest, plushest grass.

Blake was well-known in the community and did a lot of work in behavioral health in the non-profit sector. He sat on several boards and was a pillar of the community, always advocating for mental health awareness and whole-person healthcare.

Blake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Jean Redding. He is survived by his wife, Erin Redding; son, Clive Redding (8); parents, Don and Debra Redding; grandmother, Barbara Fackler; and brothers, Derek (Andrea) Redding, Brett (Rachael) Redding, and Darin (Julie) Redding.

The family wishes to convey their deepest gratitude for the hundreds of friends who were not only there for Blake throughout the years, but who also continue to lighten the load as they adjust to life without an integral part of their family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Better Health Together non-profit organization and/or Assumption Parish School.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Assumption Catholic Church, 3624 W. Indian Trail Rd Spokane, WA 99208. All are welcome to commemorate our beloved husband, father, friend, and son. Blake will remain immortal in the hearts of his family and friends.

The lady on the plane

May 7, 2023

It is so difficult to lose a child or a sibling. You will grieve and navigate life without your loved one. My condolences to the family. I was struck by Donald´s youngest brother and how he spoke of him. If you let him, GOD´s grace will get you through the worst of times. Godspeed Donald.

Lady on the plane.
