Jason KONYU Obituary
Jason Konyu was born to James and Marylynn Konyu on June 9, 1976, and married Sandy on September 4, 1999. He then went on to become a physician assistant, and the adventures that followed were raising a family with three beautiful children. In 2016, he completed his first Ironman leading to so many more experiences and stories he loved to share. Jason Konyu went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2023. He proceeded to heaven before his wife, Sandy; children, Alexandra, Anna, and Aden; his mother, Marylynn; brothers David and Micheal; and his extended family.
This God-loving man who served others every day of his life and enjoyed making others laugh or getting eyes to roll finally found someone more stubborn than himself, God, when he was called home. Everyone thought it would have been from food poisoning, but in good Jason form, he surprised us again.
God raised him to stand on a narrow and giving path that led Jason to so many adventures and laughs in his lifetime. He got to marry Sandy Konyu, the love of his life, twice. He built a family he fiercely loved, perhaps to have someone to share his weird sense of humor with, but he was always there for them.
For fun, he was brave and just crazy enough to train for triathlons. He'd completed four total and so many marathons. Some found this insane, but here he found a community that allowed him to meet and touch so many hearts.
He even touched hearts across the world. Rwanda, Africa, was a place close to his heart. Between Open heart surgery and playing soccer in the halls with the kids, he was connected there. Throughout his life and service, his most outstanding deeds were at the hospital. Caring and reassuring every one of his patients. Taking time to rub patients' feet, to share his faith and light with them, whether it be goofy stories, adventures, or even introducing his coworkers, his second family, as brothers and sisters in Christ, he was as solid as they come.
Jason Konyu was a man that loved to fix things, everything from people's hearts, stuffed animals, cars, and family. He was always on the job, always wanting to fix something, even if others didn't want him to fix it. Once he set his mind on something, no one got in his way. Even if that meant driving to the store to get a new stainless steel pot for his wife so she could make cheese, despite being told it was fine. He was smart enough to bring back chocolate and a cheeky smile too.
Borrowing phones to take stupidly goofy selfies or telling bad dad jokes like the construction joke that was still a work in progress, he always made someone smile.
One of his most incredible adventures was his last. Confusing everyone when he packed up his family and lived in an R.V. through two winters to build a legacy. A farm. Building a house, goat barns, and hog shelters were now a part of his life. Many people were confused, but he still laughed and shared every adventure, from escaping hogs and a baby goat running through the bookshelves to everything he built piece by piece. Baruch Farm will forever be his legacy-a legacy of God's Blessings and everything he did for his family.
Jason's Celebration of Life service will be held at Valley Real Life on June 16, 2023, at 4 pm to celebrate his life and everyone he touched.
