JoAnn Morgan Obituary

MORGAN, JoAnn Surrounded by her loving friends and family, and under the care of a concerned group of medical professionals, JoAnn fought ovarian cancer for the past eight months. She died at home on September 28. Born in Spokane, Washington onFebruary 23, 1935, she was the daughter of Grant and Anna and the older sister of Jerry McGlade. In 1943, the family moved to Kellogg, Idaho, where she had a briefacquaintance with her future husband, Jerry Morgan and her parentsacquired a funeral home. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1952 and then attended Washington State College, from which she received a B.A. degree in 1956. She married Jerry shortly thereafter. This past June they celebrated 54 years together. A Glen Ellyn resident for nearly 40 years, she lived previously in Idaho, Texas, Georgia, Germany, Virginia andMassachusetts. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi women's fraternity at WSC and the First United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, John and Chris, a daughter, Meredith Klaas, seven grandchildren and two great grandsons. Her 100 year old mother and brother also continue to live in the Spokane area. A dedicated wife and mother, she devoted herself to caring for her family, church and community. Visitation will be at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn on Thursday, September 30 5-8pm and Friday 9:30amuntil time of funeral service 10am at the First United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn. Interment will be at the Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane. Funeral information 630-469-0032.

I first knew JoAnn as a classmate, she was a lady even then We later renewed our acquaintence at high school reunions.
