John A. BOREK

John A. Borek, surrounded by his brother, daughter, son, grandson and close friend, passed away peacefully on February 5th, at the age of 81 years.

He grew up in Modesto, CA, where he and his brother would cruise the roads as they did in the movie American Graffiti. He then enlisted in the Air Force and assigned to Headquarters 92 Strate Aerospace Wing SAC at Fairchild Airforce Base in Washington. He was honorably discharged after four years of service. Then he worked as a mechanic for Greyhound Lines for 20 years while raising his children in Spokane, WA. He met his loving wife, Marvee, then moved back to Modesto. He worked for Stanislaus County Planning as an inspector for 20 years. He enjoyed his retirement, going to the coast of California with his wife. I know as he was journeying to the Great Beyond, he was saying 'Gotcha last'.

He will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Bob; sister, Marie; son, Johnny; daughter, Natalie; grandson, Isaac; nieces, Julie, Tammy, Lisa; his favorite cousins, Diane and Paul; and his dear friend, Kevin; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA, on February 20th, 2025, at 2:30pm. The family wishes to welcome you to a celebration of life at the VFW, 1307 S. Loffler St., Airway Heights, WA.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Sacred Heart Hospital for their care and compassion.
