K. RICHARDSON Obituary

August 5, 1975 - June 30, 2023

With great sadness we report that Dusty is missing and presumed drowned in the White Salmon River in south central Washington on June 30. He was 47.

Dusty was born on August 5, 1975 in Spokane Valley, WA. His parents are Kent and Diane Richardson. He attended Ponderosa Elementary, Horizon Junior High and University High School where he graduated in 1994. Dusty attended Western Washington University from 1994-1999.

Dusty was preceded in death by his mother Diane Burchard in 2010. He is survived by his brother Andrew, half-brother Aric, his father Kent Richardson, his step mother Nancy McKay and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews.

Dusty loved sports and played most of them through junior high and he lettered in wrestling and football at U-High. He placed sixth in the GSL wrestling tournament as a sophomore at 122 lbs. But his true love may have been water skiing and snow skiing with friends. He also became an avid golfer and snowmobiler.

He loved spending time with his Wenatchee cousins Jeremy, Tony and Tyler. Camping, travel, summer trips to the lake with his Richardson cousins Chip, John and Chris were also favorites. Summer weeks at Camp Reed with Andrew, Tony and friends from 3rd-8th grade were treasured.

But most of all Dusty loved hanging out with his friends. He had many. His family would like to thank all of you who loved and supported him in his struggles the last few years. He had a big heart and will be missed.

Plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Thanks to all.
