Kent-Edward Rudeen Obituary

Kent-Edward Rayce Rudeen, son of Kevin Rudeen and Kris Unicume Buttice, passed away on Thursday June 23rd, 2016 in Kirkland Washington.   Rayce was born in Bellevue Washington on April 12, 1990.  He was raised in Spokane and graduated from Freeman High School in 2008.  He lived in Seattle for eight years.   Rayce will be remembered for the light in his eyes, the smile on his face and the joy he brought to his family and friends.  He was tender-hearted and always put others before himself.  He was compassionate and curious. Rayce had a sense of adventure and witty humor that touched everyone around him. His intense nature drove his pursuit of life's meaningful experiences.   Rayce was preceded in death by his grandfather Edward B. Unicume.  He is survived by his parents Kevin Kent Rudeen, Kristina Unicume Buttice and Richard Buttice, his brother Kevin Remington Remy Rudeen, Grandparents Kent and Marjorie Rudeen and Donna J. Unicume.  Aunts and uncles Steve and Marsha Malsam, Dave and Gwen Swoboda, Mark and Kim Unicume, Luke and Angel Barnett, as well as numerous cousins and friends.   A Celebration of Life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  Please contact the church office for information.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Rayce Rudeen Foundation, whose mission is two-fold: providing financial assistance through scholarships to patients seeking drug rehabilitation, as well as scholarships to youth pursuing their interests in music education.   Rayce made the world a better place, made an impact on everyone he came into contact with, and lived with passion and hope.  His family and friends are blessed to have been able to share 26 years with him.  There is nothing that will fill the void of his absence but we take joy in knowing we will be reunited in heaven.

Though my interactions with the Rudeen family have been sparse since high school, I will always remember Rayce for his subtle wit and calm energy... My thoughts and sympathies are extended to every member of the Rudeen family, may this darkness be lifted from your caring hearts

I remember Royce at Freeman Elementary. He was such a quiet boy. I always thought he resembled his grandpa Unicume, who we knew from Mead. No words can express how sad we are for all of you. May the good memories and your strong faith sustain you.
