Lucienne NELSON Obituary

NELSON, Lucienne M. "Lucie" Lucienne "Lucie" M. Nelson left us on Saturday, November 28th, 2020 to be with God, her mother, father, sister, and brother who have all passed before her. She lived for 81 wonderful years. She was 1 of 7 children in her family and she was one of five daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gaudreault. She and her siblings grew up in Eastern Providences of Canada. Mom had been married for 19 years and enjoyed traveling which is what the military life her husband was in created for her and her children, moving around the country every few years. She made friends wherever she lived. She settled in Spokane and as her children went out on their own, she began working fulltime at a few of the local businesses here in Spokane until she began working at the Quality Inn Oakwood in North Spokane which she loved and stayed employed there for over 25 years. During that time, she found that she enjoyed spending time at the various public parks in the area and loved spending time with her grandsons and great grandson whom she took on adventures through the parks such as Duncan Gardens, Manito Park and Botanical Gardens and the Japanese Garden just to name a few. As Lucie came closer to retirement, she found a love for crafting miniature scenes such as seascapes, miniature camping sites where she crafted the open fire pits with a tiny frying pan that happened to have eggs and bacon cooking inside the pan. She also made Christmas villages and would add to them every year until she ran out of space. When she traveled, she always kept an eye on the scenery and collect things from nature to use in her dioramas. With this she was very meticulous, but it gave her so much joy. Lucienne leaves behind her sisters Rita Kolnicky, Cecile Trottier, Laurette Boulet, Fernande Bouchard and her brother Andre Gaudreault. Lucie has six children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Stepdaughter Denise J. Branham and her husband Michael W. Branham in Texas; stepson Walter (Tim) O. Nelson Jr. and his wife Gina S. Nelson in Massachusetts; stepdaughter Linda J. Nelson in Washington; daughter Mona L. Robinson and her husband Randall J. Robinson in Washington; son Paul J. Nelson in Vancouver B.C. Canada; son Philip M. Nelson and his wife Yanna J. Nelson in Washington; granddaughter Dedra M. Branham and her husband Daniel Fate Sr.; grandson Nikko R. Gibson; grandson Michael W. Branham Jr. and his husband Aaron McAllister; granddaughter Jessica L. Nelson; grandson Nathan A.M. Thomas; grandson Jourdan M. Nelson; granddaughter Olivia L. Nelson; great-grandson Cobi R. Gibson; great-grandson Daniel Fate Jr. and the many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends throughout the U.S. and Canada. Arrangements have been made for Mom's viewing and service. Her viewing will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and her service will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 am. Viewing and services will be held at The Heritage Funeral Home at 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. (509) 838-8900.
