Norman Davis Obituary

DAVIS,
Norman C.

Norman C. Davis, entered into Heaven on November 12, 2011, following a two year struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family at the time. He was born November 6, 1930 to Merrick and Florence Davis in Tacoma. Raised in the Spokane Valley, Norm graduated from West Valley HS in 1949 and attended EWU. Two years later he married his sweetheart, Carol Lou Crabill, and they recently celebrated their 60 year wedding anniversary. After four years in the Air Force, and some time working for The Spokesman-Review, and W.T. Grant Co, Norm and his family settled in Colville, WA for the next 25 years. Norm owned and operated KCVL, the local radio station. As a civic leader, he held numerous offices in the Chamber of Commerce, Elks, and the local Kiwanis. Upon retirement, Norm enjoyed the freedom of travel with his trailer, and later on with his motor home. His travels included nearly all the States, Canada, Mexico, and a month in Spain. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter LaVonne Whitaker, and son Kevin, along with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and Ron and his sister Marie Wampler. A memorial service will be held November 19th at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Spokane, at 1:00 pm. A short reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
