Ralph ROSS Obituary

Ralph D. Ross went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2021. He was born May 30th, 1932 in Reno Nevada to parents Rev. and Mrs. E. A. Ross. As a child of the depression he learned to take whatever job he could find and growing up in the reno area he learned to be adventurous and self-reliant. His brother Jim introduced him to boxing and he quickly rose through the ranks, winning the area Golden Gloves, and was in line for a spot in the Olympic Games. Instead, he decided to follow what God wanted for him and quit boxing. He helped his dad in the various churches they worked in and enrolled in the Open Bible College in Eugene, Oregon. While attending he was active in music and sports, traveling with groups to churches and sporting matches promoting the college.

After graduating, he traveled to Spokane to help his brother in law, Andrew Slack, who was pastor at Lifeline Church. It was there he met the love of his life Louise. They were married October 17, 1953. Ralph went on to pastor churches in McCall, Idaho and Loon Lake, Washington.

After leaving pastoral ministry, Ralph worked several jobs, including running his own industrial paint and roofing business. Ralph was a student of the bible and long time member of Valley Assembly of God, where he was always active in serving God any way he could. But he was first and foremost a husband and father. Ralph loved spending time with his extended family, especially around the holidays and family meals. He enjoyed playing basketball and softball as well as outdoor activities including camping, fishing, hunting, picking huckleberries, cutting firewood and gardening.

Ralph is survived by his wife Louise, children Sharon (Ken Holmes), James (Cindy), Randy, Sandy (Mike Smith) and Christine (Mike Racus), eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his four siblings and one grandson.

A celebration of is life will be held at 11:00 on November 19th, 2021 at Valley Assembly of God.
