Ramona KINNAMAN Obituary

Sep 28, 1937 - Jan 31, 2026

Ramona E. Kinnaman, 88, passed on to be with her Lord on January 31, 2026. She is survived by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Kinnaman; son, Darren Kinnaman of Spokane; daughter, Karen (Kinnaman) Etienne (John) of Rathdrum, Idaho; and granddaughters, Mirra Carbajal-Voelbel (Austin) of Oldsmar, Florida, and Julie Etienne of Rathdrum, Idaho.

Ramona was born to Willard and Ethel Bailey on September 28, 1937, in Fargo, North Dakota. The day after the Pearl Harbor attack, the family moved west and settled in Centralia, Washington, where Ramona grew up. After graduating from high school, she met Jerry after he returned from Korea. They married a year and a half later, on August 18, 1956. Jerry's banking career brought them to Spokane in 1979, where they decided to live after retirement.

Ramona was involved in a myriad of activities, supporting her children as they grew up. It wasn't until they were in their early teens that she went to college and earned a degree in Interior Design at Spokane Falls Community College, and worked in that field for several years. Later, she worked and retired from the Office of the Registrar at Whitworth College.

Ramona was devoted to her family and drew strength for daily living from her Lord. Wherever they lived, she was active in the life of her church. When the children were young, Ramona's passion was children's Christian education. Later in life, Ramona's heart for caring led her to Stephen's Ministries, where she loved and cared for people experiencing life difficulties. Her greatest wish was for everyone to know the love of Christ. Outside of church, Ramona enjoyed golf, bridge, painting, nurturing friendships, and entertaining friends and family in her home.

In November 2018, Ramona suffered a serious brain bleed, resulting in vascular dementia. As her dementia progressed, she still loved to hum and sing along to the hymns she cherished. She moved to Memory Care at Fairwood Village in December 2025, where she would later pass away.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Northview Bible Church, 13512 N. Mill Rd., Spokane, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Ramona's honor.
