Richard HANSEN Obituary

HANSEN, Richard Hirum "Rick" Our Heavenly Father welcomed Rick Hirum Hansen, 63, of Troy, MT, with loving open arms on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Rick was born in Butte Montana, on February 16, 1951 to his devoted parents Paul and Allyce Hansen. Rick spent his early years growing up in Spokane, WA. He graduated from Shadle Park High School with the class of 1969. He lettered in wrestling and those who knew him understood they would have to endure a few wrestling moves as a welcome. Rick also enjoyed boxing, fishing, and recently discovered the excitement of panning for gold. He married his high school sweetheart Mary Francis (Frankie) Butzerin on August 3, 1972. After their marriage, they joined the United States Army and were stationed together in Salinas, California. They served their full two years together and returned to Spokane to start their family. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Hansen; and his brothers Paul J. Hansen, Chris Steven Hansen, and Michael Steven Hansen. Survivors include his children Sarah E. Hansen of Seattle, WA, Michael Hansen of Seattle, WA, and Daniel J Hansen currently serving in the Military; mother Allyce Hansen of Troy, MT; sister Bobbie Mellick of Spokane, WA; and one grandson, Marcus Daniel Hansen. In Heaven all things are made right!! A potluck memorial for Rick will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 141 Lake Creek Rd, Troy Montana. Arrangements are under the care of SCHNACKENBERG & NELSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY of Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.

I remember rick, and how he could make the girls laugh and giggle. And I also remember his childhood home and his wrestling moves. My heart felt wishes go out to his mom and family.

Rick will be missed, he was a friend to my dad, and my best friend Alissa's uncle. He was fun and made us laugh. May he rest in peace.
