Richard TUGGLE Obituary

Richard M. Tuggle, 74, of Medical Lake, Washington, passed away at his home on April 18, 2025. He was born in West Virginia on March 3, 1951, to Clarence Arthur and Kathryn June Tuggle. Rich graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane in 1969.

For 50 years he was married to the love of his life, Judy. They married on May 24, 1975, at Fairchild Air Force Base. Together they raised a son, Jason, and daughter, Christina.

After working in the petroleum industry for many years, he found the intersection of his passion for cars and his love of people and began selling commercial vehicles. For the past 20 years he was worked with McCurley Integrity Dealerships out of Tri Cities, Washington.

Rich lived his life fast and loud. He began drag racing in Deer Park when he was in high school, and continued racing at Spokane Raceway Park for many years. He shared this hobby with his brother, Stephen, and his children. A racer was never a stranger to Rich; he shared his passion and knowledge with all.

Rich joined his loving parents; sisters, Suzie and Betsy; and brother, Mark, in heaven. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Jason (Sara) and Christina' grandchildren, Cameron, Emilie'ann, Madelynn, Selena, and Gabriella; brother, Stephen; and loving mother-in-law, Jeraldine. His two dogs, Bear and Jasper, miss him greatly.

Rich was a friend to all and loved by those who knew him. His stories, jokes, and teasing will be missed. We hope you will join us in celebrating his life Saturday, May 31, at 1 pm, at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane.

Richard's mother and I were good friends....she and I worked at Seattle First National Bank as switchboard operators....She loved her children dearly and always had a story to tell about all of them...I loss track of June Tuggle after she passed...I also was shocked to see so many of her children had passed...My deepest condolences to Richard's family....

I met Rich & Judy back around 1973. Rich was so fond of his Chevy Nomad! And he absolutely adored Judy so much. Rich always had a joke or a "snide" comment to make......Followed by a quick wink to let you know he was just kidding. I lost contact with Rich, Judy & many friends when I moved away from Spokane in the late 70's but would think of my Spokane friends often. Rich was quite talented always having an idea to any problem or situation.

I knew Richard from grade school and his sister Betsy was a good friend from both grade school and Marycliff High School. I live in Canada now and was shocked to see that Betsy, too, passed. So sorry for the families loss.
