News Death Notice

KENNEDY, Margaret (Peggy) Alene Runyan passed away on June 15, 2011 at the Mercy St. John's Center supported by her family and friends. She was born on August 3, 1924 in Springfield, Ohio, to Loras and Mary Ellen (Leith) Runyan. She was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Kennedy, Senior, her parents, and several sisters and her brother. She is survived by her sister Mary (Tom) Porter and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother to three sons and their wives; John and Hyun Joo Kennedy, James and Barbara Kennedy, Jerald and Nena Kennedy, and a daughter and son-in-law Virginia and John Martycz. She was a dedicated grandmother to: Joseph Kennedy, Shelagh Kennedy, Peggy (George) McDaniel, James (Anna) Kennedy, Bryan (Jennifer) Kennedy, David (Katie) Kennedy, Dustin Kennedy, Edward Dexter, Christel ( Chris) Ault, Joshua Kennedy, Joel (Bita) Martycz, Jacob Martycz, Tony (Ashley) LeMaster. She considered herself blessed to have 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Peggy had retired as food and beverage manager of the Holidome in Springfield. For years she enjoyed preparing food for the Union Club Picnics. Until her death, she continued to touch many lives with her courage, strength, and concern for others. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. John's Sunshine Committee. Funeral services will be held at 4:00PM Monday in Faith In Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until the time of the services. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.

I would like to send my prayers to the Kennedy family,So sorry for your loss. I know the pain your feeling it has been only 7 mos. since my mom past. It does get somewhat easier but the emptiness is still there.I don't know if you remember me we were neighbors on 68.and went to school together,but I'm truly sorry for your loss.
