News Death Notice

WILLIS, Simeon Andrew age 81 of Yellow Springs went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2009. He was born September 29, 1927, the son of the late Perry and Birdie Shope Willis. He is survived by one son Simeon Allen (Lisa) Willis, of Tipp City, OH; 2 daughters, Beverly Hasser of Columbus, OH , Victoria (Paul) Phillips of Springfield, OH; 8 grandchildren, Shannon Hasser, Jerod Lookabaugh, Jennifer Browning, Nichole Thatcher, Lyndsey Willis, DJ Schborn, Kaleb Tate and Payton Willis; 9 great grandchildren, Joy, Jacob, Jackon, Jaylon, Madison, Jaydon, Cayson, Elena and Elisha; 2 sisters, Carrie Dale of California and Virginia Mae of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Wilma Lea Boyd Willis, his parents, one sister, Alberta Sizemore, one brother, John Estep and one grandson, Willis Lookabaugh. Simeon was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for Morris Bean Company of Yellow Springs, OH and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Missionary Church. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, August 16, 2009 in the JACKSON LYTLE & WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 322 Xenia Ave. Yellow Springs where services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 17, 2009 with 1 hour prior visitation to services. Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Burial to follow in Glen Forest Cemetery Yellow Springs. The family requests donations in Simeons memory to be made to Friends Care Center, 150 E. Herman St., Yellow Springs, OH.
