James Osgood Obituary

James E. "Joe" Age 76, formerly of Elmira and Ithaca, died Friday, August 15, 2003, in Bradenton, FL. Joe was a 50-year member of United Association of Plumber & Pipefitters and a past president of Local #109. He was a WWII veteran, a member of American Legion Post 312, the Elks Lodge #2734, and the Knights of Columbus. Joe is survived by his wife, Carol Osgood; his children, David (Sandy) Osgood, Kathy (Don) Salvatore, Susan (Mel) Mansfield, Jeanne (Jerry) Jones, Mary Jo (Jim) Bennett, and Joe (Lynette) Osgood; his stepchildren, Michael, Lori, Bonnie, and Anthony Joseph and Cathy (Phil) Stilwell; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Joe is survived by sisters, Imogene Kehoe, Patricia Buell, Marianna (Earl) Weaver, and Barbara (Henry) Henry. Parents, William and Anna Osgood; and brothers, Edwin and Frank Osgood predecease him. A memorial service will be held at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 West Green St., Ithaca, at 1 p.m., August 23, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James E. Osgood Apprenticeship Award, c/o TCTC, P.O. Box 702, Trumansburg, NY 14886.
