To the O'Buckley family: My sincere thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the loss of "The Colonel". My Grandfather served under his command and had the utmost respect and high regard for him. He told me many stories in relation to the war when I became an adult. My Grandfather passed away in 1998 and still had sharpenel in his leg when they buried him, got a purple heart! I thank ""The Colonel" and his family for his service to our country and for most of all leading my Grandfather back home alive, where he had 4 children,11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchidren. In a time where the word hero is used losely your Father, Granfather, and Great grandfather was a true American hero. Good rest his soul. I am sure My Papa Joe is waiting to greet him. Sincerely, Richard Ruth Buffalo N Y

Grandpa you will be missed more then you know. Your angel Madison asks for Pop-pop daily and the picture Matthew drew you that hung on your TV is now framed. I know this is what you wanted but the void is so great and painful. Im glad I brought your favorite stawberry shake as your last real food and you got to eat it with your great grandbabies. We have many pictures of you with them so they never forget you. You were so much more then a grandfather to me...I LOVE YOU hug Michael & tell Grandma I miss her too.
