Marlea Pfeifer Obituary

Pfeifer, Marlea Jean (Daniels)

Benton, AR: Marlea Jean (Daniels) Pfeifer, 65 years old, of 3705 Heritage Oak Drive, Benton, AR, formerly of Erin, NY and Montblanc, France, lost her five year battle with Multiple Myeloma, leaving this world on December 17, 2013. She was predeceased by her son, Matthew and daughter, Amy and is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank Pfeifer, Jr; sons, Timothy (Gretel) Pfeifer of Cortland, IL, Daniel (Lisa) Pfeifer of Sachse, TX and Stephen (Tammy) Pfeifer of Horseheads, NY; and her nine grandchildren. Born to Norval A. and Ida M. (Rosecrans) Daniels (both deceased) on May 8, 1948. She attended Van Etten Central School, continuing her education at SUNY Geneseo and later at the University Paul Valèry in Montpellier, France. Her family and her church were central to her life. She spent many hours in volunteer work for Breesport Baptist Church, Horseheads Christian School and Twin Tiers Baptist High School. In 2000, she joined the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, Harrisburg, PA and went to France to serve in missions. The French recognized her sincere personality and genuine interest in others. She made many friends. It was there that in early 2009 she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Marlea actively fought the incurable disease at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, finally losing her battle 58 months later. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Saturday, December 28, 2013, from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Breesport Baptist Church, 240 Church St., Breesport NY followed by a memorial service in church at 3:00 pm. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads at the convenience of the family. Condolences and remembrances at www.barberfuneralhome.com.

We are thankful for the opportunity that the Lord gave us to be missionary colleagues in Western Europe for several years with Frank and Marlea. Marlea was such a gracious servant of her Savior and an example to all of us of courage and perseverance. We are praying that God will give Frank and the rest of the family a special measure of His grace and comfort during this very difficult time.

I have so many precious memories of growing up with Marlea and my two brothers, Vern and Clark. I will never forget all that she and Frank did for me when I was helpless and hopeless. The past five years we communicated nearly every day. I will truly miss her, my sister twice (by blood and in Christ). I praise God she is with her Savior and many who have gone before.
