Shirley J. Hatch

Horseheads - Shirley J. Hatch Age 71 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2018. She was born on December 10, 1946 in the Town of Bath the daughter of the late Francis and Florence E. Chase Covell. Shirley married her husband Donald A. Hatch on December 21, 1963 and he pre-deceased her on January 28, 1999. Mrs. Hatch retired from the NYS Dept. of Corrections as a head cook. She was an avid cook at home as well, loved to travel and had a loving heart for all animals. Shirley was also pre-deceased by her sister Edie Nadjadi, brother John Covell and by several brothers-in-law. Mrs. Hatch is survived by her loving children: Ronald and Angela Hatch of Leesburg, GA; Rhonda and Madelyne Hatch of Santa Rosa, CA; Donald A. and Nannette Hatch III of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Jessika, Matthew, Amanda, Stephanie and her fiancé Michael Lodge, Sarah, Donnie, and Chasen; great grandchildren: Lucas, Brantley, and Teagan; sisters and brother-in-law: Alberta and Gordon McCann, Barbara Percival, and Rosie Machuga; several sisters-in-law; and her beloved Ya Yas and cats A-Rod and Sophie. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Monday July 16, 2018 from 4-7 PM. Shirley will be laid to rest at the convenience of the family. In Lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Shirley through donations to the Friends of the Horseheads Animal Shelter P.O. Box 288 Horseheads, NY or to Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA 2435 St. Rt. 352

Shirley was a good friend to me. We worked at Jubilee together for a few years and learned that she worked with my family a while back. I will miss her personality and sense of humor she was a delight to have known.
