Thomas Hintz Obituary
Age 61 of Pine City, NY. He was born May 19, 1950 in Elmira, son of the late Edward T. and Mary Catherine (Drake) Hintz and passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at home. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edward J. Hintz. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elaine (Miller); children and their spouses Michael and Jessica Hintz of Elmira, Michelle and Paul Pfister of Jasper, IN; granddaughter Montana Hintz of Elmira; sister Nancy Clark of Chemung. Tom retired from Hardinge, Inc. and was a member of the Twin Tiers Sportsmen. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Prayers will be offered there on Thursday, May 3rd at 9:30 am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Rev. Richard Farrell, Celebrant. Tom will rest in a spot he chose on his son's property. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Tom through donations to Southern Tier Hospice & Palliative Care, 11751 E. Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830.

Elaine and kids, Hard to believe how much time has passed! Remembering all the great times we all shared. Tom and Jerry are reunited and having good times once more! Jerry and I talked about y'all often, wonderful memories.

Tom,s Mom was my first cousin-Mary Drake Hintz.Ive lost touch since Jean isnt able to communicate. I was shocked and deeply saddened to read of Tom's passing. We became friends many years ago when I arranged travel for him while working for Carozza's Travel. He was one of the nicest and most likeable individuals I have ever known. He always spoke of Elaine and the kids with such obvious affection. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. I am out of town and just read of Tom's passing. What a wonderful man with such a gentle spirit.
I was so pleased when Michael invited me in to see him. Tom was such a kind man and I am blessed to have known.

To Elaine and the Hintz family: Tom was one of a kind. I will always remember Tom for his deep devotion to his family and life in general. I have had the honor of knowing Tom since our years at Southside High and then working with Tom at Hardinge. In all the years I travelled with Tom, I remember one thing...how well he was respected and thought of.
