Timothy Shultz Obituary

Shultz, Timothy C.

Timothy C. Shultz, 44, of Chemung, NY passed away on September 2 at his home with his family by his side, ending a 15 month battle with brain cancer.

He was born Oct 22, 1970 in Delhi, NY, the son of Thomas E. and the late Margaret G. Shultz. He grew up on a dairy farm in Lowville NY, graduated from Lowville Academy High School and Morrisville College in Morrisville, NY.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years Joan, and loving daughters Ashley (15) and Megan (10), father Tom Shultz of Lowville, NY, brothers Mike (Peggy) Shultz of Lowman, NY, Joe (Sue) Shultz of Lowville, NY and Jim (Tricia) Shultz of Keyser, WV. In-laws David and Judy Noteboom of Elmira, NY, Carolyn Martone of Elmira, NY and Bernadette (Rick) Raupers of Erin, NY. Nephews, Alex Shultz, Bronson Shultz, Dominic Shultz, Dimitri Shultz, Kurt Martone, Ethan Raupers and Hunter Raupers. Tim was predeceased by his mother and his nephew Benjamin Shultz.

Tim worked hard his entire life, first on his family dairy farm, then for Lowville IGA, Eastern Breeders, Lowville Feed & Grain, Pennfield Feeds, Safety-Kleen, and was a valued employee of Chemung Spring Water for the last eleven years. He was active in the Chemung County 4-H as Dairy Bowl leader and volunteer, as a youth soccer coach with the Valley Youth Soccer Association, and volunteering with the Spencer-Candor Lions selling brooms in parades and working in the food booths, and working on the Town of Chemung Planning Board Committee

Tim was loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. A natural-born salesman, Tim was outgoing, friendly, and helpful, and was always smiling and making others laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, traveling, autocrossing, was an avid card player and a big fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 4th at 4:00pm at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street in Waverly, NY, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, September 5th at 1:30pm at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 224 Franklin Street in Elmira, NY. Tim was one of the nicest guys and I'm so very sorry to hear that he lost his battle. He truly was a worker, a fighter, and a very personable man. I've known him for the 11 years at Chemung as he was very diligent in his delivers at Cornell's Statler Hall. Always so proud to talk of his daughters when they were born and when asked about them. He will be and certainly has been, missed by many. Keeping his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
