Benjamin Dinkins Obituary
Ben Dinkins, 90, of Culpeper, VA passed away on April 23, 2022. He was born on December 1, 1931 in Culpeper, VA.
Ben Dinkins attended school in Culpeper, VA. He served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. Ben started working at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD in 1959 and retired in 1989 with over 32 years of federal service. After retiring from NIH, he worked part-time for Culpeper and Fauquier County School Systems.
Ben Dinkins was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dinkins; mother, Harriet Dinkins; brother William Dinkins; and sisters, Lena Campbell and Anna Dinkins.
Left with precious memories are his four children: Alvin Dinkins (Regina), Nina Lawrence, Linda Robinson and Sandra Dinkins. Six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee Roy Dinkins (Celestine); three sisters-in laws, Florence Wilson, Jo-Anne Hatcher and Elaine Wilson.
A wake will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Tibbs Funeral Home, Culpeper, VA. A viewing will be held at Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association, Rixeyville, VA, on Monday May 2 at 11:00 am with funeral services at 12 noon. Rev. Dr. Keith Sherard will be officiating. Interment Culpeper National Cemetery. Condolences may be given at www.tibbsfuneralhome.com.
