William Henry Jeffries Sr.

William Henry Jeffries Sr., 84, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at his home in The Plains, Va. Mr. Jeffries was born Feb. 26, 1921 in Marshall, Va., son of the late Alonso and Cecil Florence Thorpe Jeffries. Mr. Jeffries was a farmer and a veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Army. His wife Frances A. predeceased him in 1993. He was also predeceased by one son, James Allen Jeffries. Survivors include one daughter, Florence McCauley of Baltimore, Md.; four sons, William H. Jeffries Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Edward F. Jeffries of Front Royal, Va., John W. Jeffries and Roger L. Jeffries both of The Plains, Va.; one sister, Anna Heflin of New Baltimore, Va.; one brother, James Jeffries of Marshall, Va. Also survived by fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 1 in the Royston Funeral Home Inc. in Marshall, Va. by the Rev. Sam Jones. Interment was in the Middleburg Memorial Cemetery.
