Andrew Wallace Obituary

Andrew Joseph Wallace October 19, 1989 - June 12, 2023 Andrew Joseph Wallace, 33, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on June 12, 2023. Andrew was born on October 19, 1989, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Janelle Mathews and Jeff Wallace. He was an avid golfer from a young age and while attending Gering High School, he even qualified for the state tournament four years in a row. He continued to pursue his love of golf in college, receiving a scholarship to Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. Andrew graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Andrew's career began with an internship in Washington D.C. with Senator Adrian Smith. Later he worked as a golf assistant at several locations including Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, NE, Woodland Hills GC in Eagle, NE, Shoreline GC in Carter Lake, IA, and ended his career at Miracle Hills GC in Omaha, NE. Andrew loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the New York Yankees. He was a loyal fan, watching all of their games and faithfully following their seasons. Andrew was also a great cook and loved trying new recipes. His specialty was chili. He loved spending time with his nephew Brayden and was devoted to his family. Andrew is survived by his mother, Janelle (Wes) Mathews of Gering, father Jeff Wallace of Omaha, brother Matthew Wallace, and nephew Brayden Wallace of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his grandparents LeRoy and Rosemary Schuchardt of Cozad, Nebraska, and Mearl Wallace and Corinne Sappingfield of Gothenburg, Nebraska. A private family Memorial Service will be held in Cozad, Nebraska on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Contributions in memory of Andrew may be made to a memorial donation fund that will be established at a later date to further research in the treatment and cure of diabetes. Rest in peace, Andrew. Your love of golf, cooking, and sports will be missed.

I just seen this Janelle. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches. I remember all those years ago when he was in the hospital and got his diagnosis and I was there. If there is anything at all I can do please reach out. Lots of hugs to you all. Marlyn and Lori Schultz
