Travis Pieper Obituary
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at United Methodist Church in Hay Springs.
A memorial fund for his sons has been established at Security First Bank, Hay Springs, Neb.
Chamberlain-Drabbels Mortuary of Hay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Travis was born to Mark and Debra (Hollibaugh) Pieper April 16, 1975, in Chadron. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1993. On Sept. 4, 1998, he married Jessamyn Lafler of Mitchell. Travis and Jessamyn have two sons, Taylen, age 8, and Jarret, age 7.
Travis was an avid cattleman. From the beginning of his short life, he had a unique talent and love for working with cattle. He began his show and breeding career in 4-H and continued by building his own registered herd. Travis was well known for his judging, fitting, and showing of cattle. For years, his top sire, Bodacious, was the talk and envy of Red Angus cattlemen. He had many wins in the Red Angus breed at the NILE, NWSS, Fort Worth Stock Show, Kearney Classic, Black Hills Stock Show, Iowa State Fair, and NAILE. He was a partner in Pieper Red Angus with his parents and brother, Tate Pieper.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Debra Pieper of Hay Springs; his wife, Jessamyn and sons, Taylen and Jarret of Hay Springs; sister, Amy, her husband, Jarrod Bargmann and their three children, Derek, Taylor, and Kayla of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Tate of Hay Springs; grandparents, Bernard and Jean Pieper of Scottsbluff, and Kenneth and RoseMary Hollibaugh of Hay Springs; in-laws, Brian and Mary Lafler of Alliance; sister-in-law, Paqui Lafler of Scottsbluff, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dear Pieper family;
I remember Travis in grade school at Dist. 30 - he was so full of energy and sass, and he was so cute. I believe he thought his main job as a student was outwitting the teachers - which he often did. Later, when we were in 4-H, Travis began to channel his energy into raising and showing cattle. Before long, it became clear Travis was destined to make a name for himself in the cattle industry, which he did. So many people have good, and fun, memories of Travis. Some of those memories bring a smile, and some make us laugh. Fortunately, Amy and family, Tate, Mark & Deb, Jessamyn and boys, you have the most, and best, memories to cherish. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and that we care about you during this very difficult time.

I met Travis through Kim Delashmutt several years ago. Every year at the National Western I would run into him and he always made me laugh. He was passionate about his cattle, friends and mostly his family. My prayers are with you all. He will be dearly missed by so many. May GOD comfort you in your time of need.
