Paul LoCascio Obituary
Paul "Paulie" LoCascio, 54, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his most important people, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, the same day as his father 6 years prior. A lifelong resident of Bloomfield, N.J., Paulie loved all people and they loved him. He was funny, and he made people laugh wherever he went. Paulie was many things...generous...kind...but most importantly, he was always uniquely himself. Paulie was a kid at heart. He loved the simple things...family time, great Italian food, the Wildwood Boardwalk, all things games...pinball and pool.
Paulie got his start operating heavy equipment at Frassetto Construction working under his father, Sebastian "Julie" LoCascio, where he learned on the job how to ride rollers, batcos and cranes. Shortly after, he joined the International Union of the Operating Engineers, Local 825, which he was a part of for just over 30 years. Paulie was a presence on a job site...always laughing and joking. He will be remembered by those that worked with him for his infectious humor and his fun loving personality.
Above all else, Paulie was a family man. His greatest pride and joy were his two sons, Anthony (20) and Rocco (9), with whom he loved more than anything. He loved his wife, Gerardina "Dina" Della Fera LoCascio, otherwise affectionately called, "Cutie" so very much. He wanted his Cutie by his side at all times and one of the last things he told her before passing was, "You are the best wife." Paulie and Dina put family first, and there was nothing they would not do for those they loved. Their home was a place where all felt welcomed.
In addition to his wife and children, Paulie is survived by his mother, Millie LoCascio, which he loved more than anything. He was also very close to his sister, Julie DiGiacomo and her husband, Michael DiGiacomo and their two children, Michael Simon and Ava. In addition, he is survived by Dina's sister, Maria Delpizzo and her husband, and lifelong childhood friend, John Delpizzo, and their children Gabriella, John, and Carly. Paulie was predeceased by his father,
Sebastian "Julie" LoCascio and his stepmother, Diane LoCascio whom he is now with in heaven.
Family and friends are invited to attend viewing hours on Tuesday, August 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St., Montclair, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks in memory of Paulie that you spend time with those you love, not take yourself too seriously, be silly, and laugh often.
