HELMUTH REITHMEIER Obituary
Helmuth Peter Reithmeier, 77, of Flower Mound, passed away on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017. He was born on June 19th, 1939, in Niederviehbach, Bavaria, Germany. He was a fighter pilot in the German Military, and set several unofficial records flying the F-86 Sabrejet. In the early 1960s, he came with his squadron, “Jagdgeschwader 74”, to Perrin Air Force Base, Texas, with many other NATO member squadrons from around the world. A few short years later, he was married and made Texas his home. “Pete” was an avid sailor, and could be seen most days sailing the Graf Luckner on Lake Grapevine, making friends with everyone he came in contact with.
A funeral was held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Grapevine, Texas, on Tuesday, February 21st, at 11:00AM. Burial followed at Flower Mound Cemetery.
He is survived by four children, three grandchildren, and many relatives and friends in Germany and around the world.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial contributions be considered to St. Frances Catholic Church in Grapevine in Helmuth's memory.
