MATTHEW MORRISON Obituary
Matthew Hartwell Morrison died peacefully following a cardiac arrest at Baylor Medical in Carrollton on Monday, July 17, at the age of 32.
Matt is survived by his parents, Greg and Susie Morrison, and his brother, Miles Morrison and wife Emily, and their children Avery and Micah. He is preceded in death by his brother, Brady Morrison and his grandparents, Dick and Ann Morrison.
Matt was born on January 29, 1985 in Dallas, TX. He graduated from Van Alstyne High School where he competed on the golf team and was the first student in Van Alstyne's history to qualify and compete at the state golf tournament. He played golf collegiately at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Marketing and Journalism. Matt was currently working with Allstate Insurance in Carrollton.
A visitation is scheduled at 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 23 at First Baptist Church of Melissa, located at 2101 East Melissa Road, Melissa, TX. The funeral will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 24 at First Baptist Church of Melissa, with a reception to follow. Funeral arrangements are being handled through Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Matt's life.
