MICHAEL WAYNE BOONE Michael Wayne Boone, 39, of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Brooklyn, NY. Mike was born October 9, 1973, in Rocky Mount, NC. Mike was a free spirit who preferred to keep life simple. He had a deep love for his daughter, Michaela, his Grandmother, and a strong commitment to his family and friends. Mike was a bass guitarist with a lifelong passion for music. He was also an avid fisherman and looked forward to any opportunity to have a rod and reel in his hand. Surviving are his Daughter, Michaela Ann Boone, Mother, Ann Mangis & Stepfather, Dave Mangis, Brother, Andrew Mangis, and maternal Grandmother Maerean Poland all living in Wilmington. Living in Rocky Mount, NC is his Father, Lee Wayne Boone and Brother Derek Boone. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Rocky Mount and Wilmington areas. Also remembered is his paternal Grandparents, Julian and Lula Boone, and his maternal Grandfather, George T. Poland, all of who preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel (S. College) with Rev. Dr. Tim Reaves officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 prior to the service at Andrews. Pallbearers will be Andrew Mangis, Derek Boone, Vincent Murphy, Vince Valente, Harry Paterson, Ramsey Ateyeh, and Keith Wrench.
