Dr. Shearin was a great man, a great Principal, and someone I had so much respect for. I had the honor of working with him while I was a student at Boca High through Student Government and he was always so supportive of the students. He will be missed!

Dr. Shearin was our Principal when I was a student at Twin Lakes High School in the eighties. He was an inspiration and one of the reasons I became an educator. He touched many lives and leaves a lasting legacy.

My condolences to the Shearin family. He is so fondly remembered by lots of his childhood/high school friends and we are sad to have lost him. I remember him most as a great basketball player with my brother.
How proud all of us in Roanoke Rapids are to have known and grown up with such a wonderful man.

It is with deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences toward Melissa, Stephen,Susan and Son-in-Law and Grandchildren. I have very fond memories of Uncle "Jr." dating back to childhood. He was a person I was always proud of being related to. He was a good man. He believed truly in giving of himself for the good of others. I am convinced he has a place at the Masters table. It is my hope we will all be able to share at that table with him again one glorious day.
