Thomas Harrington Obituary
FRANCIS HARRINGTON
Thomas Francis "Tom" Harrington age 73 of Winding River, Bolivia, NC passed away on Thursday May 9, 2013 at the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Bolivia, NC.
He was born in Brooklyn CT on August 10, 1939 the son of the late, Francis and Muriel M. Harrington and was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Harrington.
Mr. Harrington was a graduate of the New England College with a Bachelor Degree in Anesthesia.
Tom was a veteran of the United States Air Force and furthered his studies at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas. He was awarded the Bronze Star with V Device for Valor while serving in Vietnam as a flight nurse. He was a certified Nurse Anesthetist and practiced for 35 years in hospitals in Lowell, MA, also Memphis TN areas and Brunswick Community Hospital for 7 years until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Almarita "Ronnie" Harrington of the home; three sons, Christopher Harrington of Westerly, RI, Timothy Harrington of Franklin MA and Thomas F. Harrington of Dartmouth, MA; a daughter, Kim Senter of Little River, SC; a sister, Muriel Wimbush of Paradise Valley, AZ; two brothers, Francis Harrington and James Harrington of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held 6: 30 PM Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Concord United Methodist Church Supply, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice 955 Mercy Lane Bolivia and to the the Bill O'Rielly Foundation for the Track Chairs for Wounded Veterans.

Sending my thoughts & prayers to all his family. He was an exceptional man. I was deeply saddened to hear of his illness and passing.
Although we didn't we didn't connect often,he touched my heart. He was my brother-in-law; a great man with a warm smile.

Tommy was a wonderful man and a true gentleman. I was truly appreciate of Tommy and Ronnie's emmotional support after the death of my mother. Tommy's thoughtfulness and kind demeanor will be missed.
My condolences to Ronnie and their children. The world is a better place due to Tommy's presence and positive influence on all of us.
