Angeline Torchia Obituary
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2025, at St. Valentine Catholic Church, Peru, with Rev. Gary Blake, pastor officiating. Burial will be held in St. Valentine Cemetery, Spring Valley at a later date. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00-10:50 AM Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle.
Angeline was born on April 15, 1920 in Oglesby to Joseph and Mary (Siolz) Barbic. She married Joseph Torchia on April 19, 1941 at St. Roch Church, LaSalle. He passed away on April 10, 2010.
Angie was a devoted wife and a loving mother of five children. She was an avid reader and enjoyed daily walks in the neighborhood. She loved music and dancing, and simply could not stand still while a polka was playing.
Angie is survived by her five children, James Torchia, Marian Bezely, Gerald (Sue) Torchia, Bonnie (Mark) Urbanowski, and Dennis (Ana) Torchia; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Louis, and John Barbic; and three sisters, Theresa Barbic, Anne (Herb) Maas, and Mary (John) Rudzinski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Aunt Angie was my godmother. Every year of my life until she was no longer physically able, I received a prayer card letting me know that she and the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary were praying for me. What a blessing she was.
