Billy Carter Obituary

Billy Bob Carter Billy Bob Carter completed his life's journey on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2009. Billy Bob was born in Elgin, Texas to his parents, Louis Carter and Opal Daughtry, on February 2, 1933. He graduated from Elgin High School and then from South West Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. After graduation, he went to work for Farmers Insurance Group, and then spent many years with the State's Comptroller's Office. However, it was after his retirement, when he finally found his passion in life as a rancher in the Angus Cattle business for the past twelve years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Carter; his two sons, Brian Carter and his wife Lisa, Keith Carter; a daughter, Denise and husband Jamie Welch; four grandchildren, Adam and Alec Carter, Melissa and Sara Welch Otto, and numerous cousins. In seventy-six years, he touched the lives of all those around him. A visitation will be Friday, March 12th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service, celebrating Billy Bob's life, will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home, Saturday, March 14th at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Elgin Cemetery. The family would like for donations to be made to The American Diabetes Association.

Billy, may you Rest In Peace. Living in Elgin and working at Butler Brick I knew your family and visited with Uncle Bee when I saw my grandmother Jettie Daughtry. You were wonderful doing Gods work here on Earth. Your family is in my prayers. God Bless You!
