CharLeu Diercks Obituary
CharLeu W. Diercks passed away on February 28, 2021 at the age of 85. Born in Dubuque, Iowa in 1935, she married K. Jerome (Jerry) Diercks there at the age of 20. She soon settled with her new husband in Austin, TX, where she raised her family. She and Jerry enjoyed domestic and overseas travel, dining out and the arts.
She had a 31 year career working for the National Archives at the LBJ Presidential Library. A number of her years there were spent in the position of registrar, managing the museum's collection.
She was preceded in death by her husband, K. Jerome (Jerry) Diercks. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Diercks (Michael Kilgore), son, David Diercks and sister, Kay Wunder.
Special thanks to the caregivers at Parmer Woods at North Austin who provided attentive, compassionate care during the last year of her life.
