Charlie Scott Obituary

Charlie Mae Scott 1931 - 2007 Charlie Mae Scott passed away on Monday, January 15, 2007, following a brief illness. Charlie was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 21, 1931. She later moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, were she attended school and met the love of her life, Clyde Wallace (Wally) Scott, Jr. whom she married on July 29, 1948. They lived in Wichita Falls for 15 years where Charlie worked as a bookkeeper until the birth of their daughter, Sue Ann. Charlie was filled with an abundance of love for her family and friends. After her sister Eileen Wilson's death, she and Wally welcomed Eileen's children (Bill, John, and Suzanne) into their lives. Charlie and Wally moved the family to Austin, Texas in January 1964 and begin a new life filled with the love and laughter of all their children. She joined her husband in opening Wallace Scott Jewelers in 1982 and worked side by side with him until 1989 when she retired. Charlie is survived by her husband, Wally; her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Matt McKeown; her grandson, Scott McKeown; her adopted children and their families, Bill and Donna Wilson, grandson William, John and Kris Wilson, Suzanne and Logan Brown, grandsons Joshua and Sam; her sister Nadine's daughter and her family, Nancy and Ralph Clore, and their children and grandchildren, Lisa and Kyle Swisher, Jake, Luke, and Grace Swisher, Kathy and Tanner Johnson, and Larry Clore; her sister Mary's children, Pat and Esther Byrne, Mike and Carol Byrne, and brother-in-law Howell Byrne; her sister-in-laws and their families, Charlotte and John Hunt, their children Jack and Tim Hunt, and Sylvia and Bob Edwards and their children Scott and Kris Edwards. Charlie will be loved and remembered always by everyone touched by her love and kindness. "Not for just an hour Not for just a day Not for just a year, but always, always..." We graciously release Charlie into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, where she may be reunited with family that has preceded her in death; her mother, her three sisters (Eileen Wilson, Nadine Myers and husband Herb, and Mary Byrne), and one niece, Mary Gaylyn Byrne. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20th at 6:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date. Obituary and guestbook online at wcfish.com
