Janice wore a badge of courage she didn’t know she had. The type of badge that’s silently worn by people who heroically fought long, hard battles. I don’t know if she ever “won” or if she was still fighting that cause; I do know she was a woman to be respected. She was extraordinary.
Janice was opinionated and fair. She was modest and proud. She was sweet and a spitfire. She was damn funny! She was also damn beautiful! Girl must’ve turned lots of heads in her younger days! She loved and cared for her family deeply and fiercely. Her steel eyes softened whenever she spoke of them.
I wish I told her how I loved her! She was the type of friend everyone should have. I wish we could’ve spent more time together. We had plans. Oh the trouble I can imagine we’d get into! But oh the good she would inspire in me to put out into the world. We met for coffee once at a small, local eatery. They were selling overpriced masks, but the proceeds would help support local artists. She bought several. Janice was caring and generous like that.
I believe Janice is in heaven, where she’s happy, uninhibited, and at peace. She made an impact on me and my family. I miss so much! We all do.

I don’t know how to put into words how incredibly lost I feel now that you’re gone. I miss your face, your voice, your smile, your laugh, and your hugs. You were my miracle, my angel, my best friend, my confidante, and my mother. I will continue to make you proud of me. I will continue to move forward, but right now, I just want to sit here and remember you. Thank you for for showing yourself to me every morning...I know the dove that comes to the tree while I have my morning coffee is your way of letting me know that you are ok and that we will be ok, too.

I will miss Jan forever. She was my rock and my life. This still isn’t fair and I feel like I’ve been robbed. I love you babe.

I never personally met Janice but hearing Mark talked of her at Delillo Chevrolet I knew she was a special woman of God and that Mark loved her dearly. She will certainly be missed by all. She’s not gone. Just waiting for all of us.
