Kevin Michels Obituary

Kevin was born in Golden, Colorado to Don and Mary Michels on February 8, 1969. He graduated from Golden High School in 1987. Kevin pursued further education at Devry Institute in Los Angeles, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET). During his time at Devry he was very active in student government and became Student Body President his senior year. He later received his MBA at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. Kevin started his career as a Field Engineer for GE Medical, maintaining MRI machines at three of the large hospitals in western Los Angeles. He moved on to Semiconductor Manufacturing with Applied Materials in Austin, Texas. His career then took a turn to Marketing where he specialized in Casinos and founded a very successful company. Kevin retired early and turned his passion towards the Commemorative Air Force, specifically the B-17 Flying Fortress "Texas Raiders". He volunteered his time working as part of their crew, as a Loadmaster, media representative and Wing Historian. He traveled the country with the B-17, sharing his extensive knowledge of this magnificent Warbird. Few things made him happier than educating the public, especially the children, on her history. Just recently he came out of retirement and returned to Austin, TX to continue his work with Applied Materials. Kevin also loved to travel. He and Paula spent time taking extensive road trips, cruises and visiting his many friends across the country. He was loved by so many. Kevin is survived by his spouse Paula Coronado and her children Jonathan of Leander, TX, and Taylor of Lakewood, Colorado, his Father, Don Michels of Missoula, MT, his mother Mary Michels of Lakewood, CO and his sister Robyn Nelson of Madera, CA. He was preceded in death by his siblings Benjamin and Diana.

Kevin's life will be celebrated by ceremonies in Austin, TX and Denver, CO.
