Mrs. Jaquette, You have always been a joy. It breaks my heart that I didn't see you more in these last years. I am only exicited that I will see you again in eternity. You were the very best grandmother. I cannot thank you enough for the deposit you made in Nycholas and my life. We love you very much. I will truly miss you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have been out of town & have just returned. Please know that I loved Lonie even though technically we didn't work together she was just down the hall from me. What a wonderful woman & friend she was to all of us. We will feel her loss so very much. You and your families are in my prayers. ~ Cindy

We are such stuff As dreams are made of; and our little life Is rounded with a sleep.

William Shakespeare "the Tempest"

I remember staying the night over at the Jaquette's house, and Leona was always there at some time during the following day. Usually, these days would follow nights which defied the conventions of social and human interactions in egregious and foolhardy ways.

Leona would listen to Marty and I spin our tales of debaucherous behavior without judgment. She would , however gently, remind us that life could be lived in a different way. It is the memory of her quietly unassuming yet accepting character that I will carry with me....and I know it is what makes me sad to hear she has left us.

Meemaw,

Every weekend I would come over, and every weekend I would leave a better person. You still have a chunk of my heart that I know you have taken to my Father in heaven. I pray that you will always be with me, and help carry me through all of the troubles that life may throw. You wanted no pity but instead you have my heart.I love you and you will always be my Meemaw.

'till we meet again,

Your baby Nycholas.

Mother,

I shall become the Robin,

waiting on my rusty belly

for the rains. Waiting

with my head thrown back,

wing extended, tracing

your image into its sinking

silhouette.

I will place my cheek

upon yours and hum prayers

across the pools of your eyes.

I will drop petals

at the paper-doors

of eternity and again,

wait for you.

I think I have held

no pen

without your hand.

All poems belong to you.

It is rather unfortunate that I did not meet Lonie. However, as I walk through the halls of CPS, the words that I most often hear is "Lonie worked hard." or "Lonie loved her family." It appears as though she has left a legacy of love and dedication to her family and her community. Let us then celebrate the life that she's had. My deepest condolences to the Jaquette family.

Lonie was always soft-spoken, kind-hearted, and loving. I always appreciated her sense of humor and big smile. And she knew how to cook! I'll miss not being able to crash at their house on Thanksgiving. My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to her family, especially John.

My most sincere condolences to Lonies' family. She was a wonderful person, an excellent lawyer and seriously devoted to the abused/neglected children of Texas. I had the privilege of working near her and enjoyed hearing her stories of life on the ranch. She could tell a funny story!

I have always been blessed, by God, to have people put in my path to help guide me through life. When Lonie came into my life, it was the most wonderful moment for me. She was always there to listen to me with an open mind and a giving heart! She always offered words of encouragement, warm hugs, sweet kisses, and an abundance of love and security in her arms. Even on her sickest of days, she was always worried about how I was, how my sister was feeling, as she is going through Chemo treatments also, and continued to offer her prayers and kind words. She always made me feel loved and I know that she really cared about me! Anyone who has been lucky enough to be in her presence, knows exactly what I'm talking about. I know she is in a place where she can continue to influence my life and be my Guardian Angel. . My sincerest condolences go out to Dale, Marty, John, Julie, Margie, and all of her grandchildren, as well as her extended family and friends. I wish everyone could be as lucky as we were to be in the presence of such a kind and loving friend.

I will miss you, My Beautiful, but I know that you will always be in my heart!!

It was a priveledge to have known and worked with Lonie. She was truly dedicated in all things, to her family, to her friends and to the children of Texas for whom she worked very hard until very near the end of her journey. The world is a lesser place, and a little darker without her in it. She was loved and respected by many and will be deeply missed and thought of fondly by all who knew her.

If I had only one word to describe Lonie, it would be dedication. She was dedicated to make a difference in the world. She was dedicated to the children of Texas that she fought so hard to protect. She was dedicated to her faith. She was dedicated to her friends. But most important to Lonie was her family ~ she was dedicated to being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of being in her presence. She will forever remain an inspiration to me.

Rest in Peace sweet Miss. Lonie.
