Nancy Carrington Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

Nancy Carrington, age 65, of Cedar Creek passed from this life on Monday, March 1, 2004. She was born October 25, 1938, in Houston, Texas, as the only child of Edwin Eugene Crowell and Louise (Fitzsimmons) Crowell. She graduated from Lamar High School in Houston. She was married to Jason Prentice Carrington on November 29, 1956, in Houston and became a homemaker, a role she loved. Being a military wife she and her husband traveled to, and lived in, such places as Athens, Greece; Hawaii; and Japan. The loves of her life were her family, cooking, sewing, and decorating. After her husband's retirement, she studied art and then taught art to others. She was a member of Wyldwood Baptist Church and was active in the ministry of supplying tapes of the services to those who could not attend in person. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jason Prentice Carrington of Cedar Creek; a daughter and son- in-law, Cynthia (Carrington) and Brian Margason of Cedar Creek; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Allen and Debbie Carrington of Cedar Creek; grandchildren, Marianne (Margason) Welch, Junior Welch, and Ashley Michelle Carrington; and cousins, Linda Hodges Jameson, Rob Jameson, and Lily Jameson. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the graveside in Upper Cedar Creek Cemetery, Cedar Creek, Texas, under the direction of Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Welch will officiate. The time has come for Nancy to meet Jesus face to face and what a glorious time that will be. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She has deposited so many gifts and treasures in each of our hearts to be passed on to our children and others. We rejoice for her life and what a privilege to have known her as mother, sister-in- Christ, and our best friend.
