Cascabel Szabriel-Tenebrae Villanpando Garay Chavez, age 18 months, a little one who graced the earth with her beautiful presence and "old soul" passed away on March 17, 2024 in the loss of her Colville home due to fire. Cascabel was born on June 26, 2022 in Colville, WA the daughter of Mariah (Garay) Chavez and Steven Villanpando.
Cascabel snuggled into hearts the moment she was born and had the ability to calm and nurture gently with her soft touch, cooing and intuitive presence. Once she began taking steps, her feet soon found joy in "pretty" shoes of all style and size. With a clump-clump-clump across the floor, she giggled in innocent joy and excitement with the noises her feet made. Her uneven steps could be heard, a different style shoe on each foot, as with each step a new adventure began. Her arms opened wide for the licks and loves of her dog, Akua, and wrapped tightly around any stuffed animal within reach. She loved nature and immersed herself in the smells and colors of the flowers in her yard. Her days were filled with unicorn daydreams, pretty dresses, lip gloss, toys, rock collection and a boundless imagination.
Cascabel is survived by her mother, Mariah Chavez; father, Steven Villanpando; 4 brothers, Michael Chavez, Rion Chavez, Kingston Chavez, Austin Chavez; half-siblings, Emilianna and Cassian, and her dog, Akua.
A funeral service for Cascabel Chavez will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colville, WA.
