Rudolf Westphal Obituary

Rudolf M. Westphal

March 28, 1924 - October 23, 2013

Rudolf "Rudy" Martin Westphal was born to Louie and Elsie (Schultz) Westphal in the Washington Township, Reedsburg, Wisconsin.

Our parents, Rudy and Marcella Westphal were married on August 30, 1952 in Reedsburg. Marcella passed away just 12 days prior to her husband, and are now re-joined once again for all eternity in Heaven.

In his earlier years, he was a milk hauler and worked for many years at Grede Foundry in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. In 1981, the entire family moved to Oregon, where he began working for JB Sod & Seed which he enjoyed very much. During the past 30 years, he also was a rural Statesman-Journal newspaper carrier along with his wife. He enjoyed working with wood and visiting with many friends over the years.

Rudy is survived by his children, Jeannine Marshall-O'Brien (Tom) and Daniel Westphal (Sandra), grandchildren Mykael and Christopher Westphal, all of Salem; sister Dorothy Bauer (George), Madison, Wisconsin and brother, LaVerne Westphal (Dee), Florida.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Otto and Reinhold Westphal.

Donations may be made on behalf of their grandchildren, to be sent to PO Box 12384, Salem, Oregon 97309.

City View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements with private burial at Restlawn Cemetery.
