Lisa Grant Obituary

Lisa Grant
Lisa Marie Grant was born in Albany, NY July 29, 1957, and died August 16, 2021, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka after a three-year battle with cancer. Moving to FL in 1975 to attend New College in Sarasota and graduating from the University of West Florida in 1979, Lisa was an avid naturalist and outdoors woman. After working for various state and federal agencies and consulting firms, Lisa began working for the St. John River Water Management District in 1984 where she held numerous positions over the years. Marrying fellow UWF grad Daniel Hayes in 1985, the couple built a home on Drayton Island in south Putnam County and have been there ever since. Lisa retired from the SJRWMD in 2015.
She is survived by her husband Daniel and many close friends and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Lisa's name be made to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177 or the Putnam Land Conservancy.
An intimate gathering of family and friends is being planned to celebrate Lisa's life in the near future.
Memories and condolences may be expressed to the family at Lisa's Book of Memories page at www.johnsonoverturffunerals.com.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
